Prepare confidential documents before sharing them

A contract, report, spreadsheet or email exchange may contain information that should not be shared. Lexanon helps you prepare a working copy suited to its recipient, without sending the original document to a server for processing.

Lexanon analyses documents on your computer. You review the detected data, correct omissions and choose what to protect. Your review also covers contextual information: an unusual job title, an address or an event may identify someone even after their name has been replaced.

Expertise in legal document anonymisation

Lawyers and legal professionals can prepare contracts, submissions and exhibits before sharing, keep pseudonyms consistent across documents and control the information sent to AI. This legal expertise addresses a wider need: working with confidential documents while retaining control over their content.

Anonymisation or pseudonymisation: choose according to your purpose

Pseudonymisation replaces identifiers with stable labels to preserve links between documents. The mapping table allows an authorised holder to restore identities. Anonymisation has a different objective: making identification practically impossible. Replacing names alone does not make a document anonymous.

To understand the difference, read our comparison of redaction and pseudonymisation. Our guide to local processing then explains how documents are prepared before being used with AI.

Human review before every disclosure

The software prepares the work; you decide whether the file can be shared. Check the exported version, scanned pages, annotations and the text of your request. With a remote integration, the content you choose to send leaves your computer: local preparation does not replace an assessment of the provider and access permissions.
